Teachers Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers. In India, the birthday of the second president Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, 5 September, is celebrated as Teacher’s Day since 1962.
Dr. Radhakrishnan was the first Vice President of India.
On Teachers day, the usual school activities are replaced by celebration, thanks and remembrance. It is a day filled with lots of excitement and celebrations for the school. Today is a day to show our gratitude and appreciation to our wonderful teachers. They help us grow into better individuals. To mark their hard work towards teaching and honour them with appreciation, Teachers’ Day is celebrated all over India on 5th September.
Many countries celebrate Teachers’ Day on 5 October. UNESCO officially declared the 5th of October as the World Teachers’ Day in 1994.
